Over £900 raised in memory of Councillor Paul James

19/06/2019 12:00

Following the tragic passing of Councillor Paul James, friends and colleagues from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service have fundraised towards two of Paul’s chosen charities, the Dyfi Ward Cardiac Monitoring Unit at Bronglais Hospital and the Cyril Evans Ward and Cardio-Thoracic H.D.U. at Morriston Hospital.

In memory of Paul, who was also a member of the Mid and West Wales Fire Authority, £505 was raised at a quiz for MAWWFRS staff, held at the Service’s Headquarters, Carmarthen, on the 23rd of May. A further £400 was raised at a charity football match, at Aberystwyth’s Park Avenue, between MAWWFRS personnel, other blue light representatives and local business owners.

The two sums of money were presented to Cameron James, Paul’s son, at Aberystwyth Fire Station.
