REQUEST TO RETURN TO EMPLOYMENT (ON-CALL ONLY) 

The option of “returning to employment” can be offered when an employee has voluntarily terminated their On Call Contract with MAWWFRS and requests a return to employment within four years of their last recorded day of duty.

This facility is only available to employees looking to return to the role of a firefighter. Although personnel who had previously held the role of a Crew or Watch Manager are eligible to apply, their return can only be to the role of a firefighter.

Although Firefighters are trained to deal with a variety of rescue and firefighting incidents, it’s also important that they are equipped to work within our communities to reduce risk, visiting homes, schools and community groups providing safety information.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION OFFICER

COMMUNITY SAFETY DEPARTMENT

GRADE 5 - £21,589 - £23,836

 

A vacancy has arisen for a Community Education Officer within the Community Safety Department. The post is based within the Powys area, Newtown and Llandrindod Wells, but will also be required to provide support in other areas if required. 

The role’s main focus will be to provide safety education to schools and other establishments and the wider community.  The role will also include supporting other youth initiatives, attending safety events, the delivery of community safety talks and the undertaking of home safety visits. 

The post is 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday). The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Please be advised the level of Welsh required for this role is outlined below:

Written: Level 4

This level includes: -

Creating simple semi-structured presentations, writing formal and informal letters, memos and complete forms with a range of factual information and opinion relevant to the post, to both internal and external colleagues

Spoken & Understanding: Level 5

This level includes: -

Writing highly reports on highly specialised areas, producing texts intended for public consumption.
