Whitland Fire Station
Whitland station’s community area has an approximate population of 11,000; much of this is made up of outlying areas including farms, villages, hamlets and also the town of St Clears
The fire station is crewed by 12 on call firefighters. Their rescue pump type fire appliance has the capability of dealing with all types of incidents including road traffic collisions, flooding, property fires, chemical incidents and rescues.
The main risks for Whitland and its surrounding communities are the busy main A40 trunk road to Fishguard, linking this strategic port to the rest of the UK. A mixture of Country & B roads, farming and associated agricultural industries .The river Taf can be susceptible to flooding on occasions.
Whitland Fire Station personnel have been proactive in reducing the risk for the local inhabitants and visitors by conducting Home Fire Safety checks where crews give out important safety advice and free smoke detectors if required.
