Mental Health Project
This project has arisen from evidence that indicates related to vulnerable people and in particular mental health clients are a major cause of concern.
The Welsh Government is committed to reducing the incidence of death and injury in this section of the community and has funded an innovative partnership between Hywel Dda Health Board and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
As a response, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service Community Risk Reduction teams targeted the Community Mental Health teams in the area asking the practitioners to refer their patients to the Fire and Rescue Service for a Home Fire Safety Check
. Evidence is conclusive that you are far less likely to die in a fire if you and your property have received an HFSC in the past year.
Both Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Hywel Dda Health Board are committed to continuing with this project with plans to rollout the template across Wales.
